Blake is a coach that brings a firm but fair approach to the game. He likes his practices to be fun but also creates a competitive environment. Blake believes it is important to get to know and understand each athlete, as individuals respond to different coaching styles. He enjoys helping players grow and develop in all areas of life, not just hockey. Blake will be honest with his feedback, but always try to do so in a positive way in order to help players move forward and reach their potential. Blake will put a strong emphasis on hard work and attitude, two things that every person has control of.

Blake grew up in Herbert, Saskatchewan. He played most of his minor hockey in Swift Current before moving to Tisdale to play U18AAA. Blake played two years in the BCHL for the Vernon Vipers with a brief stint in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks, before finishing his career in the SJHL with the Melville Millionaires. After junior hockey, Blake pursued a degree in agriculture while playing with University of Saskatchewan Huskies. When he was no longer playing hockey, Blake discovered his strong ­­three kids.

When Blake has free time, he can be found working around his yard on his acreage and spending time with his family. ­
