Coaching Experience

Doan is a well-rounded and relationship-driven coach who’s coaching philosophy revolves around bringing this individualized development to help prepare student-athletes for challenges both on and off the ice. Doan is a relationship-driven coach who approaches every individual differently by working to identify their personal needs.

Doan grew up on a farm forty five minutes north of Brooks, Alberta. He is a big family man who has three siblings who all pursue their dreams whom he is very proud of. He played his minor hockey in Medicine Hat at both the Bantam and Midget AAA levels.

Doan found himself in the KIJHL for his Jr. career before pursuing a short minor professional stop in Sweden for parts of two seasons. Doan also loves swimming and baseball. He has his lifeguard certification.

He would describe his coaching style as progressive – a mixture of analytical and eye sight, and strives to gain relatability to the players, by being able to adapt based on the task and goal at hand.

Doan graduated High School from a class of 1!
