When momma’s happy, everyone is happy!  Moms of young children are often less active than their peers who do not have children - presumably because they are too busy putting the needs of everyone else first. Yet when moms are active, they feel better and are setting an important example for their kids and inspiring other moms too!

Leading up to the holidays let’s celebrate and support moms (and all caregivers for that matter) who are making efforts to play sports and be physically active.  Offer to do the dishes, fold the laundry or complete some errands so mom can get some time for her favorite activities.

Mom’s - Start small - even 5 minutes can put you in a good mood and reduce stress.  Here are some ideas for moms to get active:

  • Go for a walk while your kids are in sports or activities
  • Try a yoga class with a friend
  • Do a 10 minute exercise video just before the kids get off the bus
  • Set an alarm for 5 minute stretch break/posture breaks throughout the day
  • Make sure it is something you enjoy!
